Lake Nakuru National park lies in Central Kenya, 140km north-west of Nairobi, in Nakuru district of the Rift Valley Province. The ecosystem comprises of the lake, surrounded by mainly wooded and bushy grasslands. The lake nakuru park supports a wide ecological diversity with Flamingos (Greater and Lesser) and other water birds being the major attractions of the area. The ecosystem in lake nakuru provides for about 56 different species of mammals including the white rhino and buffaloes and a variety of terrestrial birds numbering nearly 450 species.

Lake Nakuru safari is a full day trip to the rift Valley escarpment, 160kms from Nairobi . Lunch is taken before an afternoon game drive. On return journey there is stop at Lake Naivasha where bird watchers will delight in the fanstastic array of birdlife among the acacia trees

0600hrs: Pick-up at different places depending on location.
0700hrs: Depart Nairobi for Lake Nakuru National park

1000hrs: Arrive at the Lake Nakuru National park and proceed for a 2hr lake nakuru safari game drive. 1230hrs: Enjoy lunch at the lake nakuru lodge.

1430hrs : Afternoon game drive commences and runs for 1 hr.

0530hrs: Depart Lake Nakuru National park for Nairobi .

1830hrs: Arrive in Nairobi and be dropped off at a location of your choice within the city .

The Lake Nakuru park also contains largest population of rhinos.The surface of the lake occupies about a third of the lake park. The lake supports a dense bloom of the blue-green Cyanophyte Spirulina platensis from which it derives its colour. It is a food source for flamingos.
